• Under his playfulness and smiles, Prompto is a ball of nerves and depression tbh

• He’s one of those people who tries to forget he’s a person by dedicating all of his energy to the people he loves. As much as he’d like to say it works, he’s still alone with his thoughts at the end of the day.

• Like Noctis, you’ve been entrusted with Prompto’s negative emotions as well as his positive ones. He might try not to make a big deal out of it, but you know how much it means for him to expose himself like this to you

• So it makes sense to you when you give Prompto a hug after a particularly hard day. Every laugh has been forced, every smile fake, he’s uncharacteristically quiet, those big eyes of his are downcast… And you know blondie loves any sort of affection

• (And it’s not like you hate being touched. You just want to be touched on your terms. And you definitely don’t hate the idea of touching Prompto…)

• Now you’ve gone over this in your head, but when you hug Prompto and he realizes it’s you he kind of short circuits

• “You don’t have to do this!” “I– what?”

• He even tries to pull away? Because he’s like “they don’t like this, they don’t want to touch me, they don’t want to be touched.” You have to be pretty insistent for about thirty awkward seconds

• Of course he’s taking full advantage of having your attention when he realizes you’re fine with giving it. He keeps up a sad front for like ten minutes just to keep your arms wrapped around him. This is rare and he’s not letting you go without a fight

• “You wanna talk about what’s wrong–” “Nah, this is fine.”

• (This isn’t to say he’ll hold onto you until your uncomfortable. He’s just very touch starved, and he likes you very much, and if you notice that he’s crying it’s because you’re so sweet, oh wowsers)
