So I was talking about it with my brother, and I’m having this feeling (now that I think about it) that Isa tried to escape the Organization at one point. (And maybe Lea tried to join him)
Because I was thinking…
YMX says they were able to track Sora in DDD because he had the X sigil on his clothes.
Well Saix has an X directly on his face, obviously. I have a feeling he tried to escape, and Xemnas scarred his face so they’d have track of him at all times, and he wouldn’t have a way to remove the sigil. It’s scarred on his f a c e.
That just makes me really sad for him honestly. That’s probably part of why he doesn’t leave the castle or go on missions (that we know of) because he’s not allowed to leave. If he tried, Xemnas / Xehanort would just come back for him. They know where he is all the time.
I think if Isa could have escaped the Organization, he would’ve. But because they had track of him, he was completely unable to leave. It would be pointless. Now he’s just completely brainwashed and I just think he doesn’t know how to turn back.
You’re right.
That explains the mark.
We know that Axel and Saix wanted to betray the Organization. Axel took out everyone else at Castle Oblivion to remove Xemnas’s followers and help Saix get closer to Xemnas.
They knew they couldn’t escape so their only hope was to destroy the Organization from the inside.
It also explains Axel’s actions in Days and the KH2 prologue. You can’t turn your back on the Organization. You can’t leave.
They will hurt you. They will destroy you.
He tries to get Xion and Roxas to come back. Insists he’ll bring them back by force, because he believes it will be worse for them if they try to escape. He’s trying to protect them by forcing them to stay in the Cult, because he knows there’s no way to leave. His best friend tried and he saw what happened to him.
However, Saix didn’t become completely hopeless just from that punishment. He and Axel were still working to be to free, covertly as mentioned above. They just knew that running wouldn’t help.
They had their plan. It was working! Axel managed to take out five members at Castle Oblivion. Before Roxas and Xion, there were 12 members, he and Saix are traitors, that leaves Xemnas and 9 assumed loyal followers. 10 Organization members and Axel took out five of them. They are halfway there, and thanks to his good work, he and Saix can work their way into Xemnas’s good graces. They can get closer. Force him to set them free. To tell them some way to become human again.
Then Roxas and Xion show up, and Axel starts to care about them.
It was always Lea and Isa together in this. The two of them against the world, trust no one else. It was their plan. Play loyal, get closer, finally be free. It’s easy not to care about anyone else when you have no Heart and only the memories of each other.
That’s why Saix tells Axel “You’ve changed”.
Axel is no longer the cold assassin who puts their objective first. He wants to keep Xion and Roxas safe. Axel has begun to grow a heart (literally) and his priorities shift.
Saix can’t run away. Saix is marked and they both know it. His only hope is their plan. If Axel decided to run off with Roxas and Xion, or later just with Roxas, he’d have to leave Saix behind.
Axel doesn’t think you can escape. He’s seen what happened to Saix. He knows his choices are obey or be destroyed, but even if he did think leave, he’d have to turn his back on Saix, on Isa, his best friend, the one who has been with him through all of it.
In Days Saix feels betrayed, Axel feels trapped, torn between loyalties and friends, and trapped still by this cult.
And what an evil Cult Xemnas/Xehanort made. His own members will enforce not running, because he makes examples out of them. All the while he gas lights them into believing they do not have a Heart and the only way to ever have a Heart again is to follow him.
We learn in DDD that Hearts will regrow on their own. “A number of us unquestionably showed signs of a
burgeoning replacement. Once born, the heart can also be nurtured.”What nurtures a Heart? Feelings. Friendship. (Friends are power).
So Xemnas makes sure their believe that that feelings aren’t real, that they can’t really feel anything. To ignore their burgeoning replacement and thus starve it to death so that they remain good empty vessels.
Roxas questions it because he had a Heart from the beginning as Ventus’s Heart rests within him. Replica’s have Hearts and Xion’s Heart was nurtured by Roxas’s love and friendship. Roxas and Xion could love, and they loved Axel, they shared their Heart with him as friends and nurtured his burgeoning Heart. Axel quelled it, repeating Xemnas’s gas lighting “I don’t have a Heart” but the friendship was too strong. They made him feel like he had a Heart. After losing them both, and all that grief centered on Roxas because he’s the only one Axel remembered, all that mattered was feeling again. Feeling anything again after so much emptiness.
So Axel gave up. Axel gave up on Saix’s plan and on Saix. All that mattered to him now was getting Roxas back and he’d serve his own agenda.
Saix is alone now.
Friendship nurtures the Heart. Whatever burgeoning Heart he held onto was kept alive, a tiny spark, fed by his friendship with Lea. Lea’s friendship was the oxygen that kept the tiny flame alive and once Axel turned on the Organization that flame was snuffed out.
Saix couldn’t join him. Saix can’t ever run again.
He has nothing left.
Nothing except Xemnas and the hope he gives him.
Serve me and you’ll have your Heart again. No one else will help you. You don’t have anyone else. You can’t love and no one can love you. It’s gas lighting and classic abuse.
Organization XIII is an abusive cult and Saix is a victim.
@cameoamalthea I’m gonna cry… See this is why he’s my favorite character! This is the kind of stuff that happenes to his character and people are so quick to hate him because of his personality.
