yeah, it’s another Cloud post, just assume that it’s like this in my head all the time because that’s pretty accurate

okay, so one thing I noticed is that Cloud’s hair in Crisis Core looks more similar to its style in Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus than it does to the style it’s in during VII proper. 

and while that’s technically due to graphical capabilities…

my theory here is this: the one big spike is sort of an homage to Zack, with his single strand of hair not styled back– I’d call it bangs but it’s kinda not– that he (Zack) changes his hair to around the time Cloud enters the infantry (we also know Cloud noticed that change; he mentions it in an email)

SO, once Cloud separates his memories of Zack from his actual identity and untangles that whole mess of physical and mental trauma, and starts actually recovering (we’ll say he starts the real recovery process a few months after VII ends, so he knows things have truly settled down), he goes back to the way he used to style his hair. he can’t get the lost years back, but at least he still remembers how he used to do his hair XD
