Prompto x reader

This very strange idea just came to me and i had to write it! naturally! Tagging @its-lunafreya , @theyearofdiamonddogs , @ffxvheadcanonsnooneaskedfor , @amicitonia if you guys fancy a read. No worries if you don’t.

Warnings: Just fluff and humour

Night had drawn in and you were doing your best to make yourself comfortable in the tent. It was pretty cramped with you and the four guys.

Mind you, Gladio was the one that took up most of the space. He was a big lump.

Ignis always lies still. Not moving. And if you don’t look hard enough one might say he doesn’t breath.

Noctis normaly curls up into a ball and has an annoying tendancy to steal others blankets.

Prompto was like you, a fidgit bum. It takes him a while to get to sleep so he normally sits up late, looking through his camera or playing kings knight.

You normally just lie there and toss and turn until sleep eventually takes you. But you were seriously struggling tonight. You couldn’t seem to warm up and the ground the tent was pitched on was a little bumpy. Stones kept jabbing your sides and bum whenever you rolled over.

The freckled blonde had noticed your fidgeting and sighs of frustration. He aimed his phone your way so the light landed directly in your eyes causing you to squint.

“You okay (y/n)?” He whispered and moved himself so he was facing you.

You lifted yourself up onto your elbows “Apart from being cold, uncomfortable and blinded by the light on your phone, im fine Prompto”

“Oops! Sorry!” He moved the light out of your direct line of sight “You know if you’re uncomfortable I don’t mind swapping places” He patted the ground next to him “It’s less bumpy over here”

“Nah, it’s okay Prom. I’ll get to sleep eventually” Your refusal to budge only caused Prompto to keep on at you.

He didn’t like the idea of you being uncomfortable. Prompto always put your wellbeing before anything else. In battle he makes sure to stick by your side and keep you as far from the enemy as possible. He’ll give you the last of his food if you’re still hungry. And he often takes pictures of you when you’re not aware. Sunshine boy had the biggest crush on you.

You thought all the guys were pretty good looking. But Prompto was the one you couldn’t help having sudden feelings toward. His happy go lucky attitude and your days never being dull with him had only a small part in it.

Occasionally you found yourself wondering what if? What if Prompto likes me? What if he doesn’t? What if he kissed me? What if I tell him how I feel but he doesn’t feel the same? These thoughts only made you nervous and too scared to tell him.

“Please (y/n)…I’ll kick Gladio and tell him you did it if you don’t swap” A cheeky grin plastered his face.

“What? You’re blackmailing me now?” You found it difficult to keep your talking to a barely audible whisper.

“The foots ready to thump!” He threatened.

“Okay! Okay! Have it your way Argentum” You threw your covers off and pulled yourself up off the floor. Prompto began to pull himself up but you halted him by holding your hand up in the air.

“What?” He asked with a confused expression.

You gently lifted your leg over Gladio hoping to the six that he doesn’t roll over, otherwise you would most likely fall flat on your face. You held your hand out for Prompto to hold while you steadied yourself. He gladly took it. His hand was incredibly warm compared to yours which felt like an ice block.

“Geez! (y/n) you’re freezing!” He helped you down onto the floor and pulled a blanket out from behind him and wrapped it around you.

“I did say I was cold Prom” Prompto began rubbing his hands up and down your arms to try and warm you up.

“That helping?” You wanted to tell him yes, you really did but you found yourself lying.

“Not really, no”

“Oh! Well…ummm…how about this?” He positioned himself so he was sat behind you and wrapped his arms around your front into a fairly tight hug.

You relaxed back and rested your head on his shoulder “That’s so much nicer Prom”

“That warming you up?” He nodded to the blanket that was on your lap.

“Yeah it’s definately doing the job” You snuggled into Prompto, both of you feeling comfortable.

That was until both of you heard Noctis snort on the other side of the tent. He was giggling under the blanket.

“What’s so funny?” Prompto called out causing Noctis to laugh hysterically.

“You guys try listening to the conversation you just had with your eyes shut” Gladio piped up “Anyone would think you two were at it”

“Hey! (y/n) was cold and uncomforta-” Prompto tried to defend the accusation.

“Yeah, yeah” Gladio replied “Listen you kids can do whatever the hell you want. Ain’t none of my business. What is my business though is you doin’ it in my tent”

“We weren’t doing anything!” You protested causing Noctis to laugh even more.

“Will you all be quiet!” Ignis piped up “One of us is actually trying to sleep here!”

“Awwww c’mon Iggy, we’re just having a joke” Noctis jested.

“You know what Prom they’re just jealous because they’re not getting any!” You laughed.

“Neither are we!” He pointed out.

“Bloody hell!” Ignis sat up and rubbed the bridge of his nose “No Prompto, you and (y/n) are not getting any, Noctis isn’t getting any, Gladio isn’t getting any and im certainly not getting any!”

“Really Ig’s? You got it that bad?” Gladio chuckled.

“Sleep Gladio! I mean sleep!” His tone was furious “Now will you all kindly shut the hell up"  He threw himself back down and rolled over.

Noctis was still sniggering, Gladio remained silent and you and Prompto remained happy in your warm embrace.

You whispered “We better give Ignis an ebony in the morning. Think he’s gunna need it”
