Okay, so I was thinking,

Sephiroth probably has some feelings about the Buster Sword, too, to the point that seeing Cloud use it–which he actually has not seen in canon, because the player would theoretically have Ultima Weapon or… oh dammit, I’m forgetting the names of all Cloud’s swords now, and then in AC Cloud has the Fusion Sword(s)– would have Sephiroth a little sore.

Like, if you only had two friends, and you were all melt-y genetic disasters, and both of your friends end up dead, BUT one of your friends is mentoring the easily excited puppy of a man who’s rising quickly through the ranks and when said friend dies, puppy boy is there to see it and gets the sword passed down, and then puppy boy is all “blah blah dreams and honor” and then he gets killed and now there’s an infantryman who has your dead friend’s sword and is chasing you down for trying to find answers…

I don’t like anything Sephiroth did, but I can understand it, when I think about it

Because to Cloud (and Zack before), it’s the I Watched My Friend Die Sword.

To Sephiroth, it’s the I Never Got To Say Goodbye Sword

Also I like making them match a lot bc I hc them as siblings who got separated w Everything That Happened and Lea didn’t even Know for a while bc Kairi grew so much and he’s been through A Lot (and Kairi has no memory of RG)
