So we all know that Sora has become a lot of things, right?

A Heartless

Two Nobodies

And he still has anti-form and (indirectly) Xion, who is a puppet of him.

Now, let’s look at Terra.

At the end of Birth By Sleep, he ends up getting possessed by Xehanort. But after his fight with Aqua, he stabbed himself with his keyblade.

Sound familiar?

Now let’s go back to what I was originally saying. Terra (or should I say Xehanort) also turns into several things. A Heartless…

A Nobody…

And then there’s this guy.

The Lingering Will. I can’t really wrap my head around what he’s supposed to be. He’s Terra’s sentient suit of armor. He supposedly is what’s left of Terra’s mind and seems to still have a sense of self in this state from the dialogue in KH2: Final Mix.

But what if he’s more than that?

Technically speaking, Ansem SOD and Xemnas are both just extensions of Xehanort, not Terra. And yeah I get that Xemnas looks a lot like Terra and seems to remember Aqua and Ventus. He holds some sort of (emotional?) connection to them but that’s about it.

Xemnas is not Terra. If anything, Xemnas is stuck in a similar situation as Naminé.

Just like Xemnas, she holds a strange emotional connection to Sora and Kairi. She’s an amalgamation of Sora’s body and soul and Kairi’s heart, with a unique ability that no one else has; she can rearrange Sora’s memories and the memories of those close to him.

Xemnas is an amalgamation of Terra and Xehanort. He has a few bizzarre abilities that the other organization members didn’t seem to have, either. He has multiple forms and is even capable of using Xehanort’s armor.

Xemnas’ final form looks an awful lot like Sora’s final form too, but that’s a whole different story.

In the fight between Terranort and the Lingering Will, Terranort says something interesting:

“Your body submits, your heart succumbs— so why does your mind resist?”

-Which brings me to my next point. While the Heartless are mindless creatures that only seek hearts (excluding Ansem SOD amd Sora’s Heartless, who were strong enough to retain a bit of who they were), Nobodies are the empty shells left behind that, despite being incapable of feeling, still have their memories or at least are capable of intelligent thought. The lesser Nobodies can communicate with each other and the organization members. While this isn’t shown in the games, you can see it in the 358/2 Days manga.

-This leads me to believe that the Lingering Will isn’t just a suit of armor. He could be a Nobody. One that’s as strong-willed as the other members in the original Organization XIII. It’s in his NAME, for pete’s sake.

So, Xemnas and Naminé are rare Nobodies. Neither of them truly are who they came from. Which could mean…

If Sora’s true Nobody is Roxas…Terra’s true Nobody is the Lingering Will.

Okay, hello! I know I haven’t written anything for…quite some time, but guess who’s back and got some ideas! Now, this isn’t FFXV related (don’t worry, I still love that game and will probably be writing some for it) but I got Kingdom Hearts a couple months ago and…I fell in love. I finally got caught up with all the games, but while I was playing Dream Drop Distance, I…kinda came up with a crack fic idea and it went from there. 

There will be spoilers for KH in here, so please read at your own risk if you haven’t finished all the games!
