(new female char in KHIII anon) It’s not like I would be adverse to a new original female character, especially if she’s a strong and helpful character. I’m just afraid that the writing would subtly hint at them being love interests (like SoKai and Terraqua), and the fandom would rip itself apart between people getting mad about a female character getting in the way of Akuroku and Certain KH players who would take it as a chance to shout about “See Axel’s not gay!” But it’ll probably not happen.

(and I’m not saying all Akuroku shippers would be like that, of course, I’m just going based on a previous pattern that hopefully the KH fandom has grown out of. Though KHIII could bring a new wave of fans. I guess we’ll just have to hope that things get better instead of worse.)

I mean, I kind of doubt they’d do it during a game where they’re wrapping up the plot surrounding sora and co, and Ventus is kind of their third person already (he’s sort of the middle of a venn diagram of both squads, heh) and Kairi might end up being part of that trio by the end assuming Isa doesn’t just martyr himself and actually stay dead. I could see her being a good positive influence towards him

I get where you come from though and was initially like “god I hope they don’t just slap in a love interest for Lea that’d be so cheap and lame” like they’d make him a tifa be a thing or him and larxene even though he rebuffed her in COM or something as equally random but by this point I don’t really see it bc they’re probably going to focus on him becoming friends with Kairi over the span of the game and trying to save Isa, Roxas, Namine, and Xion. Plus I mean, unless they wiped RG’s memories of her before she got dropped in destiny islands, Lea probably remembers seeing Kairi around as a kid

And I doubt they’d really do anything to combat the fandom consensus that Axel’s gay which has been ingrained in a lot of the fandom for a decade and made proof by how it acts around VA’s (coughQuintoncough) by just slapping in a random girl for him to magically be into and Nomura was already like “see it how you like” when asked about people interpreting him and Roxas’ relationship as romantic, so I doubt they’d pull that Bad Writing dick move NOW and not so much in BBS or allude to it in Days.

But i mean, people already do the whole “XION AND NAMINE SUCK BC THEY GET IN THE WAY I HATE THEM!!!” thing so that’s not new it’d just get crazier lmao. Seeing how new fans act in this fandom now, I’m battening down the hatches and getting ready for a shitstorm and MORE DRAMA.
God, the akrk drama’s gonna go haywire more than it is esp if they pull plot twists in Lea and Isa’s background stories and there’s more time travel or sleep pods and the age disk horse explodes again whether it gets further established or turned on its head (glad I wasn’t participating in the fandom when BBS came out!!). Man I’m out of there, but it’s still gonna end up in my inbox and dash won’t it ( ._.)
